2017 Acura TLX A-Spec | Air Lift 3P with Hidden OEM-Plus Trunk Setup

This latest project features a 2017 Acura TLX A-Spec that came in for a full air suspension installation with an emphasis on simplicity, usability, and clean presentation.

We installed a complete Air Lift 3P management system paired with air struts, giving the vehicle precise ride-height control while maintaining comfort and drivability. The goal was to achieve a proper stance without sacrificing everyday functionality.

For the trunk, the customer wanted a minimal, low-profile setup that wouldn’t interfere with daily use — especially grocery runs. To accomplish this, the entire air system was designed and installed inside the spare tire area, allowing the factory trunk floor to remain fully usable. When the floor is installed, the trunk functions exactly like stock. When removed for car shows, the full setup is revealed.

The system layout includes:

  • Chrome 5-gallon air tank mounted to the trunk lid

  • Dual Viair 444C compressors neatly displayed

  • Hidden wiring routed through the trunk hinges for a clean, factory look

  • Acrylic panels with RGB lighting to highlight the system

  • Hard lines added for structure and visual balance

All remaining areas were wrapped in black carpet to match the OEM trunk, while black leather accents were used inside the setup to maintain a cohesive, factory-plus aesthetic.

The end result is a clean, functional, and show-ready air suspension trunk setup that transitions effortlessly between daily driving and event display.

At Serious Innovations, we specialize in:

  • Air Lift 3P air suspension installations

  • Hidden and OEM-plus trunk layouts

  • Daily-drivable air ride setups

  • Show-ready yet functional designs

This 2017 Acura TLX A-Spec is a perfect example of how air suspension can be installed without compromising practicality — and the customer couldn’t be happier with the final result.
