2011 Honda Civic | Clean & Simple Trunk Setup

This latest project features a 2011 Honda Civic with a custom trunk setup designed around a simple goal: clean execution while reusing the customer’s existing equipment.

Rather than replacing parts unnecessarily, this build focused on maximizing what the customer already had. We reused his 5-gallon air tank, dual Viair compressors, and two 10-inch MTX subwoofers, integrating everything into a layout that looks intentional, organized, and factory-inspired.

Due to wear on the subwoofers, the MTX speakers were refinished in black, restoring their appearance and allowing them to blend seamlessly into the new design.

To maintain trunk usability and keep the build compact, we fabricated a sealed subwoofer enclosure in the spare tire well, allowing the system to sit low and clean. An acrylic window design was added above the subwoofer to give the setup a polished look while showcasing the enclosure beneath.

The entire trunk floor was wrapped in black suede, creating a uniform, high-end finish throughout the rear cargo area. For the air system, the tank and Viair compressors were mounted to a custom board, positioned cleanly behind the subwoofer enclosure. Hard lines were added to the tank, bringing a subtle design element without overpowering the simplicity of the setup.

The end result is a clean, functional, and straightforward trunk build that proves you don’t need all new components to achieve a refined look — just proper planning, fabrication, and attention to detail.
